Front Range Staffing is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for a long-term opportunity with an established manufacturing company in Northwest Colorado Springs. This organization has been in business for more than 20 years and offers a strong company culture focused on training, developing, and promoting employees from within.
This position requires hands-on CNC machining experience beyond basic machine operation or production running and a thorough understanding of the complete machining process from blueprint and initial setup through production and final inspection. Responsibilities include performing full machine setups, selecting and setting tooling, establishing offsets, reading and understanding G-code and M-code, interpreting tool paths and tolerances, performing precision measurements and inspections, and troubleshooting machining issues. The role requires independently setting up jobs, inspecting finished and in-process parts, and making necessary machining, offset, tooling, or program adjustments to maintain specifications and correct parts that begin trending out of tolerance.

Required Qualifications & CNC Machining Skills
3+ years of recent, hands-on CNC machining experience; 5+ years strongly preferred

Hands-on experience with precision milling, drilling, boring, tapping, and reaming operations
Experience machining materials such as steel, aluminum, and plastics
Ability to recognize and troubleshoot tool wear, dimensional changes, vibration, cutting issues, setup problems, and out-of-tolerance conditions
Ability to perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections of your own parts and make machining adjustments based on inspection results
Proficiency using micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, depth gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
Working knowledge of CMM inspection processes and the ability to understand how CMM results relate to machining and dimensional corrections
Ability to maintain dimensional accuracy and produce tight-tolerance, precision parts consistently throughout a production run
